Foster fund scholarships are a desperately needed form of assistance to children who are in, and are aging out of the foster system, because the growing price of education today has negatively impacted the ability of students to pay for a college education. 

Foster Scholarships For Kids Who Age Out Of Foster Care

Foster scholarships are necessary because going to college is an even greater challenge for individuals who have aged out of a foster care system, and no longer have access to financial support from the foster system after the age of eighteen. For many of these orphans, going to college is simply not an option, it is a luxury that cannot be afforded. 

Many foster children who would otherwise have hopes for a brighter future after getting a college degree never get there because not having enough funds discourages these kids from having college aspirations in the first place!

While some of these students have the support of orphan foundations and foster scholarships, most do not.

One of the core beliefs at Poksak is that every individual deserves the opportunity to attend college, and foster scholarships help us live out those beliefs.

During the initial stages of creating Poksak, all of the members shared a mutual understanding that every product we supported must be a solution to a social and environmental cause.  The problem presented to us consisted of the soaring higher education costs coupled with the inabilityof foster children to financially support themselves. 

Foster Charity And Foster Scholarship, Solutions For Poor Foster Education Opportunities

We came to the conclusion that a foster charity or foster scholarship would be the perfect solution to the problem of poor education opportunities for foster children who want to go to college.

This is why a portion of all Poksak sales contribute to a foster scholarship through the Orphan Foundation of America. Doing so allows Poksak to enable young students to obtain degrees that will ultimately allow them to be fully independent, while creating a product that coincide with principles of environmental sustainability.
